Check it out HERE!
It’s so weird really…the idea that I’ve published enough books in the series to have a boxed set, haha. I’ve only been at this for a little over a year and a half, yet I feel as though I’ve come such a long way. My writing is the ONE thing I know I for certain do right, and to be able to present it to you in the form of these books…gosh, it’s the best feeling!
Anywho, gonna be posting a youtube vid tomorrow, me thinks. A passage reading from one of the Guardians of Illyria books, which I’m uber excited about, because of COURSE I’m gonna make it fun.
Happy Cyber Monday shopping, Readers!
So, I basically haven’t posted on here in forever because I’ve been moving all over the place like a nomad, BUT I’m starting back up again now. And I thought how better to kick-start this again by posting my new third book cover art? I sort of held a competition on my instagram about which cover to pick for my new cover art and THIS one was the winner. Thank Jesus Almighty, too, because lawd do I love this cover!
For those of you wondering, the character in the middle is Solara of Illyria, Daughter of Illindria. And those fly-away-thing-a-ma-bobs are her locusts. She’s honestly got some of the coolest action scenes in this book. THEY WERE SO MUCH FUN TO WRITE! Anyway, here’s the link for the third book on amazon becaaaause IT’S NOW ON PRE-ORDER! http://www.amazon.com/Iron-Jawed-Siege-Guardians-Illyria-Book-ebook/dp/B00MQA60JC/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1411415355&sr=1-3&keywords=the+iron-jawed+boy
Some pretty crazy things are going on in this third installment. Such a pivotal book in the series in so many ways. Especially romaaaantical, which was also tons of fun to write 😉
And here’s the username for my instagram, just in case you want some picture updates of my writing, modeling, and/or ridiculously aweseomsauceness via memes: @the_nik_lee
For just ONE day, The Iron-Jawed Boy is dropping down to $1.99 😀 Woot! Tomorrow it rises to 2.99 and 3.99 the day after. Get it before the second book comes out in December…
IT HAS BEEN DONE! The rough draft for the second book in the Sky Guardian Chronicles has been completed!
It shall be entitled The Iron-Jawed Boy and the Hand of the Moon, and at this pace, it shall be released early 2014 😀
I’m so excited with the direction this story has gone. It’s going a bit darker, where confusion and uncertainty plague IOn’s thoughts on the daily. He’s going to really start questioning where his life is going and who his allies and enemies are. The lines, he discovers, are not so clear-cut.
The next month or so is going to go by rather quickly. Going to be starting the revisions for the first draft on Monday, I believe, and possibly finish by the end of October. Wish me luck!
Wrote 2500 words today!
I’m getting better and better at writing rough drafts, you know, just letting the words flow instead of getting hung up on all the little things. I just keep telling myself “Stop. Noooo, stop. Seriously stop. Omg, Nik -_- FREAKIN’ STOP ALREADY!” so I don’t obsess as much. It works! Sort of.
Anyways, I’ve decided this book is going to span the month of July, which is only a month after the dreaded night of the CVEs in book one. Ion’s going to be encountering a number of things that challenge his ideas of who exactly the Illyrians are. I’m sort of aiming for an abstract view on authority–like, don’t always be so sure. Question everything, I guess you’d say.
I’ve also decided there’s going to be a lot of this:
Oh, and this:
And definitely some of THIS:
So you have been warned!
In other words: I’m feeling awesome, lol. The book’s been out for nearly a month now and while I’ve only garnered about eight reviews so far all of them have been super amazingly positive. Some have said it’s a cross between Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, that the action scenes are “amazing”, and the ending was “epic”, that it’s “compelling”, “original”, and “a great start to a new series”. I couldn’t be any happier with how it’s being received right now! Mostly because as a writer–an indie writer most especially–reviews are everything. Furserious.
But while I’m just waiting for that one star review to come my way (which will be the day I question whether or not life is worth living in a melodramatic sort of way) I’m going to remain feeling optimistic.
Now…where are my dragons?
